Yuzuki is Minoru’s custom made persocon that was modeled after his late sister. Because Yuzuki knows how much Minoru loved his sister she works her hardest to be in every way like her, and is always wondering if she is good enough.
What Minoru really needs is to realize his sister is gone. As the series progresses, and Minoru wakes up to this fact, Yuzuki starts to feel more and more useless, until finally she does something that could destroy her because she thinks that’s what Minoru wants. Meanwhile, Minoru is really worried. He explains to her that she is not his sister, and he likes Yuzuki because she is Yuzuki, not because she is like his sister. After this Yuzuki is freed from her self-imposed expectations and begins to act as she pleases.
Yuzuki is running on a very highly advanced program that gives her an artifically common sence and reasoning, and makes it seem very much like she's acting on her own, but it's really just part of her program to seem that way.
