Yumi is the happy, cheerful young girl Hideki works with. One of the first distinguishing features he noticed about her was her rather large chest. Every time Hideki mentioned persocons Yumi got sad and it was because of a bad experience in the past with the owner of Chiroru, the bakery Chii works at.
Yumi actually used to work at Chiroru with Ueda. They got along well and Yumi started to fall in love with him. She finally confessed that she had feelings for him and it turned out he returned her feelings. He also mentioned he had been married before. Yumi was curious so she went to look it up on the net. She found out he had been married to a persocon before and because extremely sad because she thought he couldn’t tell them apart. She stopped working at Chiroru and tried to avoid Ueda. One day Chii was working there and accidentally put on Yumi’s old uniform that Ueda had made especially for her. Yumi had been watching outside and she started to run away crying, but Hideki caught up with her. She told him her story and he told her that Ueda is not that kind of person and he is sure Ueda loves her for her. After hearing this she talked to Ueda and he confirmed it. After this Yumi started to visit Chiroru again.
Yumi seemed to like Hideki at first but she really looks up to him like an older brother. She decided all persocons weren’t bad after she worked out her differences with Ueda.
