Chii and Black Chii have a very strange relationship. Black Chii seems to “visit” Chii when she is in a trance, which happens when she reads “The Empty City” books. Black Chii seems to know all about Chii’s past which Chii can’t remember.
At first, Black Chii seems to want to hurt Chii or is her alternate personality, or something. After a while though, it seems like she trying to help her. She tries to get her to remember her past. She wants Chii to find her one, someone that will love her most of all. She seems to think that Hideki might not be it. Also, it seems that Chii’s previous owner was in love with Chii but got too obsessed with Chii so they had to leave (when Chii lost her memory I’m guessing). She also warns Chii to find the one for her before they start to bother her (read: Dita & Gima). She comes to Chii when she is really confused about something.
Because Chii doesn’t know much, it doesn’t seem like she has much of a personality. But if Dark Chii is any proof of what Chii used to be like I think she will get more interesting as the series progresses. Chii doesn’t seem to know what to think about Dark Chii yet. She just seems even more confused and overwhelmed, poor Chii!
