Minoru has learned just about everything there is to know about persocons by the age of 11. He has made his own custom persocon also. From the moment he meets Chii he knows she is an extraordinary persocon and he spends the whole series trying to find information about her. He gets help from his persocon Yuzuki.
Yuzuki is modeled after his sister. Minoru’s sister died about 2 years ago from an illness and he never really got over her death. He loved her so much he made a persocon that looked like her and had all her attributes. At first he is very careful about keeping Yuzuki exactly like his sister but as the series progresses he starts to lean away from that. He starts to appreciate Yuzuki for who she is and is finally accepting his sister’s death. Unfortunately Yuzuki wants to stay just like his sister. Finally he takes out all of his sister's data, telling Yuzuki he appreciates her for her, and wants her to stop trying to be his sister. It is really very touching!
Minoru pretty much acts superior to everyone. I don’t think he tries to but he is much smarter than them and so they all respect him after they get over the fact that he’s a little kid. He seems to not need a parent as none was ever mentioned in the series, which just goes to show how self sufficient he is at such a young age.
