Hideki is in Tokyo taking cram school so he can get into collage next year. Needless to say, he doesn’t get very good grades, and is very poor with only a small part time job. He gets very enthusiastic about many things and often scares people off. He really, really wants a persocon but knows there is absolutely no way he can afford one. One day he is walking home from school and sees what looks like a person lying in the trash. After realizing that no one has been murdered he drags the persocon home and turns her on. After much trouble he realizes that she knows nothing and no one can figure out anything about her so he is forced to teach her everything she needs to know. Meanwhile, everyone else is racing to find out everything about her and her past.
Hideki may seem a bit off and kind of perverted at times, but he’s really just a nice guy. Everyone he talks to think he’s a nice guy, but no girls ever really want to go out with him. In times of distress he is always there to help his friends work through their problems, making them realize what a great guy he is. While he has many problems like being poor and not getting good grades, he takes them all and stays determined to get through it all, mainly thanks to Chii. He and Chii have a really cute relationship, because they are always helping each other out in one way or another. Hideki takes some getting used to, but he really tries his hardest and tries to do the right thing.
Anime:In the anime Hideki is just moving to Tokyo from a farm in the beginning. He lives in the same apartment building as Shinbo. He has to start at things like cram school and finding a job while in the manga he is already been doing these things for quite some time. A lot of his actions are even more exaggerated in the anime that in the manga, but other than that he’s pretty much the same.
