Hideki is standing alone in a world of rain when Atashi, the rabbit from the storybook, comes up to him and asks “Do you like me or not?” Hideki sees Shimizu and Shinbo standing far away under a light. He can see them talking but cannot hear them. The next scene shows him muttering about not having a good night’s sleep. Hideki then realizes the fact that Shimizu is married and not to Shinbo. Suddenly Sumomo pops out of Hideki’s bag and makes him do morning exercises. She gives him a note from Shinbo asking him to take care of her. That day at school neither Shinbo nor Shimizu shows up. On the way home from work he gets a call through Sumomo from Shinbo. Shinbo says he ans Shimizu fled for love. Hideki manages to get Sumomo hooked up to his TV but gets so mad when because Shinbo never told him that he breaks his TV. He goes over to Minoru’s and hooks Sumomo up there. By this time Hideki is fuming at Shinbo for fleeing for love, especially with his married teacher. Shinbo explains to Hideki how Shimizu’s husband got a persocon right after they married and soon was so attached to it that he didn’t even talk to Shimizu anymore. One day when Shinbo was walking home from school he saw Shimizu sitting on a swing in the park. He came back after he was done eating dinner and she was still there. Shinbo asked her why she was there and she told him that her husband locked her out of the house because he had forgotten that she was coming home. After that Shinbo feel in love with her and kept pushing her. When she went to Hideki’s she was supposed to go to Shinbo’s. After that night Hideki saw them together they ran off to a hot springs in the mountains so that she couldn’t run away again. Shinbo then says that they’re not coming back until she agrees to remarry to him. Before Shinbo leaves Hideki makes him promise to tell him the next time he has a problem. Shimizu tells Shinbo that the night when Hideki was half asleep she asked him if it was okay to love someone else when you’re married and he told her you can’t control who you love and just do what you feel comfortable with, which is what gave her the courage to come with Shinbo. This is a really sweet and sad episode, and lots of the scenes are very pretty!
