Hideki wakes up to see a girl in his bed, freaks out (he really needs to learn to control himself when stressed), and then remembers he found a persocon. Shinbo comes over and meets her. He hooks her up to the TV to see what brand she is, and the TV reads “No Data”. He looks in various odd places to try to find her manufacturer, with no luck. He then hooks Sumomo up to her to see if she can find the layout, but Sumomo crashes. Shinbo refers Hideki to a persocon expert, who turns out to be an 11 year old. After making 4 of Minoru’s (the kid’s) persocons crash, Yuzuki (Minoru’s custom made person) offers to try. After Yuzuki also fails, Minoru offers the idea that Chii may be one of the legendary persocons, called Chobits, which can operate without an OS (Operating System). Before they leave, Minoru demonstrates that Chii’s learning system in working by making her recite Hideki’s phone number (making Hideki a bit happier), but Minoru also warns Hideki not to fall in love with Chii.
