Motosuwa Hideki | Hideki is a broke 19 year old would-be student. He's go to cram school in Tokyo, but is too poor to afford a persocon. Lucky for him there’s one just lying in the trash, unfortunately this is no normal persocon. more?
Shinbo Hiromu | Hideki’s friend from cram school who leaves near his apartment. He is quite genki most of the time and is knowledgeable about most aspects of persocons. He’s blunt when he has to be and is not afraid of doing most things. more?
Shimizu Takako | Hideki and Shinbo’s young, pretty teacher from cram school. She likes to tease Hideki and play with his mind because he is so gullible. While she is most of the time happy and playful she can have mood swings in seconds. more?
Hibiya Chitose | The land load to Hideki’s apartment. She is nice and tries to help Hideki whenever possible, like bringing him food and clothes for Chii. She presents an innocent exterior but somehow knows something about Chii’s past. more?
Kokubunji Minoru | The child genius who knows everything there is to know about persocons. Having already created his own persocon modeled after his sister, he attempts to help Hideki unravel Chii’s mysterious past. more?
Ohmura Yumi | Hideki’s cute, high school co-worker from Yorokonde. She is cheerful, happy and seems to take a liking to Hideki. For some reason she doesn’t like persocons and gets sad whenever Hideki talks about them. more?
Hiroyasu Ueda | The manager of the bakery Chii works at. He is much older than he looks. He is a very nice guy and is very polite to Chii and Hideki. He doesn’t like to be hugged though and had a bad experience in his past. more?
Kojima Yoshiyuki | Another persocon and computer genius. His name on message boards is “Dragonfly” and he gets into fight with other persocon users. He wants to know about all special persocons and will do anything to get info. more?
Icchan | Icchan? Wait, isn’t he from Angelic Layer? Yes but in Chobits he is Hibiya’s late husband who died of an illness a few years earlier. To say anything else would be a spoiler so go read the manga! more?
Kaede | Another one! Yes, while Kaede was in Angelic Layer, she is also in Chobits. In this story she is Minoru’s older sister who died about 2 years ago from an illness. It was said she always tried to help her brother in every way. more?
PERSOCONS
Chii | The mysterious (and super cute!) persocon Hideki found in the trash. She can’t do anything when she is first turned on and she can’t say anything but Chii, so Hideki has to teach her everything. Because of all the strange events happening around her everyone wants to know about her past. more?
Sumomo | Shinbo’s cute little mobile persocon. She is programmed to do many very cute things like dances and songs. She is a bit of an air head and very comedic but she always provides a bit of fun and makes you laugh. more?
Yuzuki | Minoru’s own custom made persocon. She is modeled after his sister and programmed to be helpful and kind. She tries her hardest to be exactly like Minoru’s sister but often feels inferior and worthless. more?
Dark Chii | What seems to be an alter ego of Chii at first, Dark Chii is just that, a Chii look alike clothed in black that appears when Chii goes into a trance. She knows everything about Chii’s past and is trying to help Chii remember. more?
Zima | One of two persocons clothed in black following Chii around. It is unclear at first why, but they seem to want to stop a “program” from starting. Jima is always reading something on the inside of his sunglasses but won’t say what. more?
Dita | The female persocon going around with Jima. While Jima seems to be in control Dita doesn’t really seem to know what is really happening. She just wants to stop the “program” and protect Jima from harm. more?
Kotoko | Yoshiyuki’s purple haired notebook persocon. She seems to be quite intelligent and is very blunt because she has a truth-telling program installed. From the way she acts it seems she doesn’t care too much for Yoshiyuki. more?
Tome | A persocon that used to belong to Ueda and helped at his store. I won’t say anymore but if you really want to know her story read the manga or go spoil yourself by reading the more section on her. more?

Atashi | The nameless bunny rabbit thing from the “A Town Where No One Was” book series. (She calls herself Atashi, which means “I”) She travels from town to town searching for her one and only person. more?
